Patrick Mullee, HM Ambassador to Uruguay

"I am delighted to be Ambassador in Uruguay.  It's a fantastic job in a wonderful country.  There is great friendship between the people of Uruguay and the UK - it goes back a long way and is very much alive today.  We have an excellent team in the Embassy and most of our staff are Uruguayans - our aim is to provide the best possible service to all our customers in Uruguay and UK. Most of  my overseas career in the Diplomatic Service has been spent in Latin America. Before coming to Uruguay in April 2008 I previously worked in Ecuador, Costa Rica and Venezuela. My whole family (Joanna, Kate and Hannah) enjoy living in Latin America as much as I do. Latin America, especially Uruguay, is a great place for families. Any free time away from work or family is devoted to South American football and other sports.  During home postings in the Foreign Office I support Luton Town Football Club."
