The UK and Uruguay share international views and commitments that promote full sustainable development.  The environment, climate change, human rights and democracy are pillars of development and both countries have shown firm commitment and leadership on these issues.

The Embassy works with the Uruguayan government and Uruguayan non-government organisations on a wide range of projects supported by different programme funds. All projects need to be in line with the UK's foreign policy objectives.

Embassy staff are proactive when it comes to identifying priority areas of work and potential partners.  The Embassy does not accept spontaneous project bids or proposals that have not been previously discussed with the relevant Embassy representative.
